A Bridal Shower Invitation

Our good friends from college, Michaela and Joe, are getting married this summer. When Michaela's sister contacted me about creating the bridal shower invitation, I was more than excited. Michaela and Joe had a really special engagement so we wanted to incorporate that story in the actual invitation. I drew the "map" in Illustrator and designed the rest in InDesign. I'm really happy with the way they turned out... and Michaela loved them!

Ikea Blad Curtains

Yesterday I posted these Ikea Blad curtains in my mood board. I love the brown, creams and grays and the leaf motif is soft but not too feminine. Here are two great rooms featuring them.

Home Inspirations

Well it's only March, but already I'm gearing up for our big move back to NYC this summer. I'm not looking forward to the crazy whirlwind NYC apartment search but I am looking forward to decorating another apartment. This time I really want to start from scratch and buy timeless pieces that we will take with us when we eventually buy a house. In general, I'd like to have a more "adult" place to come home to (a.k.a. get rid of our falling apart Ikea furniture). So here is my mood board with the Room and Board Orson couch being the only item we currently own:

I was inspired after reading Apartment Therapy's Home Hacks section on How to Collect Home Inspiration. For years now I've been collecting images but they're all unorganized and in different places. I find that I love using Google Reader to star my favorite designs and I have lots of photos saved on my computer. I also discovered Wishpot from the Apartment Therapy article. It's amazing! Seamless Creative

I am a huge fan of Seamless Creative, a small design firm located in Astoria, Queens. I discovered their latest project, a brand re-design for W&T Seafood. I love the simple, yet modern logo, and the colors couldn't be more perfect for a seafood company. And look at those wavy lines, such a unique and creative way to emulate the sea. Absolutely splendid!
